Sweet Testimonies...

  "I have read on several occasions Psalm 23 and have always thought how nice it would be to lie down in green pastures and enjoy the still waters. Most recently I was preparing for a lesson I was going to present to my cell group when I came across that scripture and truly yearned for that kind of peace and rest in the Lord. Life can get so hectic and incredibly busy that I almost felt like I was running on empty and in need of refueling. It wasn't long after my heartfelt prayer to the Lord for the opportunity to experience that kind of peace and rest from Psalm 23 that I was presented with the opportunity to attend a Serene Escape to Port Aransas in March 2011. After getting through the initial withdrawals of not having internet access which meant no email and tucking my cell phone away for the week, which meant no phone calls from work or home, I began to experience the stillness of the Lord. Listening to the soft waves against the beach, the cool breeze in my hair and absolute quietness provided me the opportunity to be still so that I could hear from the Lord and experience His presence in a way that is unmatched. I now can say that the Lord has brought Psalm 23 alive to me and I know that His presence refilled this empty vessel with wisdom, peace, and His joy that I know will carry me through my daily life. I am truly looking forward to my next opportunity to "Escape" with Him for a week to refill my vessel and rest in His presence.    Oh Our Precious God is so faithful... I am telling you when you separate yourself unto Him, His presence is priceless. Do you know why He sent Jesus to die on that old rugged cross??? To pay a price you nor I could ever pay to be with Our Heavenly Father. Extreme Love that is what He has for us. We are His beloved and He so loves us. God the Father sent His One and Only Son to die so you and I could share in sweet fellowship with Him. He rose again and Lives...that we may also live.   When I come into the Presence of the King, I come with expectancy ...The Lord over and above blesses those who draw close to His precious presence.

   I have been hosting these Escapes since September of 2009 just so we can set ourselves apart and rest in Him. Time alone with Your Heavenly Father will allow you time with the One who loves you the most.
     “Precious, Prayer is communing with the Lord. Not giving God a speech and a list of to do's. Not crying out and cutting Him off.   I personally believe Prayer is me speaking a lot less and listening to His still quiet voice a lot more. Are you set apart? Are you listening? Philippians 4:6 "Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." That word "Prayer" in this text is proseuchē it is a noun, it literally means a place set apart or suited for the offering of prayer. This is a place in the open air where the Jews went out to pray, outside the cities, where they had no synagogue. Just an open Heaven. Places situated upon the bank of a stream or the shore of a sea, where there was a supply of water for washing the hands before prayer. I see these Lovely Serene Escapes as Prayer Sabbaticals, a place of healing and cleansing, a place where the Lord can make all things new and complete in Him. The world we live in today is filthy and offensive in so many ways...I challenge you to set yourself apart for a time to just meet with Your Master and Pray. Yes!   I am honored. Oh He is so faithful... I am telling you when you separate yourself unto Him, His presence is priceless. One on one time with Jesus is healing and transforming.   He speaks where you hear Him clearly. His presence becomes tangible. Summer of 2009 I know ... God spoke clearly to me, "Create an atmosphere for my daughters to be with Me. An atmosphere that is quiet, peaceful, a place where there are no distractions. A place where my beloved daughters can spend time at My feet. A haven where we will share sweet fellowship." This is what I heard Him speak into my Spirit.   Sweet Daughter of the King come with expectancy ... The Lord over and above blesses those who draw close to Him. It’s His desire to draw you closer.

          Praise the Lord we have ‘3’ Lovely Serene Escapes scheduled this 2012. An Escape will allow you alone time with the One who loves you the most;   A time to draw near to the Father’s heart. A time to be still, listen and hear. A time to respond in obedience to His beckoning.   He is calling us to a higher, deeper walk of love.   A walk in love that will touch those whom we love the most.   A walk that invites those whom we cross paths with to partake in His goodness.          This price of $225~ Includes the beautiful Beach house lodging, your meals, beverages, your Materials ect.   There’ll be carpooling amongst the ladies, we’ll all be helping with the gasoline expenses (You're looking at about $20 the day of the trip) (The only thing this money does NOT cover is your souvenirs.) I just wanna Testify… My Name is Guiia Brooks. I was raised in a Christian Family where Church was a steady part of life. My father was an Army Chaplain 27 years so we moved around a lot. Through it all God had been faithful to me. In my teens and young adult years I did not walk in obedience. A wild child who kept trying to find myself outside of my faith. I called on God all the time but rarely listened to Him. Joined the army and got sent to Belgium, traveled a lot and while in Europe I can only remember once going to Chapel. Structure but not in the things of God definitely kept me seeking. Married another who was seeking.

In June of 1990, I rededicated my life to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This was a sincere dedication and I had friends and a Church family who held me accountable. This changed my life. I grew in a relationship with My heavenly Father. In 1994, I had 3 sons and one on the way…I was involved in a fatal automobile accident. Totally out and Air evacuated to the Hospital I woke up hours later to a bright lit room, with Iv’s, a hospital gown on, and a lady who was pulling my hair. I woke up saying, “Ah, your pulling my hair.” The lady said, “Hold on I am almost through with your stitches.” I hadn’t a clue as to what happened that day.

When I woke enough to understand what was going on…I found out I had been in a Car accident, 2 of my children, Jeromy & Zackary were in Pediatric ICU with major head injuries one of my children, Chaztin was killed instantly and the baby in my tummy was OK, they needed to keep me for observation. When I heard all of this I had a peace rush over me like never before and the Lord speaking to my Spirit, “I am with you and everything is going to be OK.”

When I was released I went to see my boys in PICU who had bolts screwed into their heads to measure the pressure in their brains, and on total life support, their faces unrecognizable from the swelling, scrapes & cuts…totally unconscious. When I saw all of this, again I had a peace rush over me and the Lord speaking to my Spirit, “I am here with them and everything is going to be OK.”

When I attended my little 5 year old son’s funeral, and I saw him…he looked so beautiful, like he was peacefully just sleeping. Once again the Spirit of the Lord wrapped His love around me and surrounded with His peace and comfort… the Lord spoke to my Spirit saying, “Your son is with Me now and everything is going to be OK.”

Faithful, God is so faithful. Day 4 the bolts were removed from my sons heads. They woke up on the 13^th day. We attended months of rehabilitation, the new Baby, Jadeon was born, another beautiful Son. Finally we were able to go home. I began to see that the Children God had given to me were gifts. Just guest in my home for me to share Him with. No one knows how long your guest will stay. There is no promise for tomorrow, except to know if you are saved you will meet again in Glory. All you have is today..that is why it is called the present. God was so faithful through this tragic accident, I know He lives and He is faithful because today my children love and serve Him. Their favorite place to be is the house of God.

In 1998, I had just had another beautiful Son, Ethan. 3 weeks after he was born, the man I had been married to left me one morning. He left without a toothbrush or his clothes or car. He left on foot. I have never seen or heard from him again. When this happened God rushed in, with precious faithful family & friends where we members of Church of the Hills ... and I had that same peace rush over me and the Lord spoke to my Spirit, “I am with you and everything is going to be OK.” And it was. When all you have is God, you will find our he is all you need.

Seeking the Lord He again ordered my steps. I met Tony in July of 1999 through an online Christian match Making service. He was in Diego Garcia and I in Georgetown, Texas. We communicated for 6 months before we ever laid eyes on each other. June 16^th of 2000 we married… Tony was serving in the Air Force here in San Antonio, Texas. Tony told me we would attend a Cornerstone Church. Sounded like a nice church to me. He asked me, “Have you ever heard of John Hagee?” I said, “Yes, I have a couple of his books, he is a great author.” I had never seen TBN before so… God had me on a path to an entire new future with Tony and Cornerstone Church. All of our boys are now “Brooks Brothers”. God gave me more that 7 times better in my precious husband Tony, and our Church family. We are so grateful for our Cornerstone Church family.

We tied into the Cell Ministry as soon as we started attending Cornerstone. I knew NO one in San Antonio except Tony. I believe the Cells are the lifeline of our Church. We are honored to be part of the tribe of Simeon and serve the Lord under the outstanding Leadership of tom & Linda Lasater. Brooks Casa Ministry Cell is located on the south side of San Antonio about 20 minutes south of Down Town. As a Cell we believe the Blood of Jesus unites us into His royal family. You can expect, a very Family Friendly Atmosphere. God’s Word is studied in depth with discussion, Questions & answers, We have live Praise & Worship, Fellowship with refreshments and a great deal of time is spent in Powerful Prayer.

Children are most welcomed. We fellowship together, worship, do Bible Study and pray all as one body in Christ. We want our children to be trained up the Lord, along side of their parents. Our Witness speaks louder than any words ever could. Age appropriate Christ Centered word searches, puzzles, and coloring sheets are handed out to the children. The children are involved in discussion and can also hear the Bible Studies taught.

We are honored to serve the Lord here on the South Side of San Antonio, as a Simeon Cell of Cornerstone Church. We strive to exist to show God's Love in such a way that people exchange ordinary living for an extraordinary life through the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
